Each year after harvest, the grape vines are pruned to ensure a good crop for the coming harvest. Drawn from the ancient tradition in winemaking regions of France, The Burning of the Canes celebration marks the end of winter, the completion of pruning and to welcome bud burst in the vineyard and what the new season can bring. Hollydene Estate at Jerrys Plains will celebrate the 2015 Burning of the Canes with a sumptuous three course feast created by chef Steve Houghton, a fabulous light show, live music and dancing and a huge bonfire made from the grapevine canes to light up the sky.
